We are delighted to announce two new Board members started their terms on July 1, 2026. Their commitment to the Museum’s mission and their unique backgrounds will have a positive impact for years to come. We look forward to charting the Museum’s future together.

Peter Hébert
Peter Hébert co-founded Lux Capital on a bold premise: the greatest impact comes from backing the most scientifically and technologically ambitious founders — people developing things most thought would never work, yet that would someday become intrinsic to daily life. Today Lux manages $7 billion across AI, biotech, robotics, energy, and defense, with first investments in category-defining companies including Hugging Face, Anduril, Applied Intuition, Runway, and Cognition. Peter led Lux’s investment in Auris Health, acquired by Johnson & Johnson for up to $6 billion in one of the top VC-backed transactions of all time.
Peter began his career at Lehman Brothers and graduated cum laude from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School. He speaks regularly at Columbia, MIT, Stanford, and Yale. Committed to expanding opportunity for young people and strengthening community, he serves on the boards of the Boys & Girls Club of the Peninsula and the Palo Alto Museum.
“I first moved to Palo Alto from New York City in 2011 and lived in an apartment overlooking the Palo Alto Museum,” Peter said. “With a deep commitment to this local community and a lifelong passion for history—especially the history of Palo Alto and Silicon Valley—I am honored to support the launch of this lasting institution.”

Dana Tom
A Stanford electrical engineer, Dana Tom has called Palo Alto home since 1998. He spent years in Silicon Valley developing software, from videogames to business applications, at Electronic Arts and Software Publishing Corporation. He went on to deliver training on management practices and leadership at EA, and later co-founded Sail Internet, a Bay Area ISP that went through Stanford’s StartX accelerator. .
Dana served nine years as an elected trustee of the Palo Alto Unified School District and four years on the Board of Directors of the California School Boards Association. He was PTA President at Duveneck Elementary and coached his sons in soccer, basketball, and baseball. He has also served as President of Palo Alto Players, the community’s theater company; President of the Rotary Club of Palo Alto; and Rotary District Assistant Governor. Dana brings expertise in strategic planning, board governance, and building collaborative teams across creative and technical disciplines.
“I’m excited to join the Palo Alto Museum early enough to help shape its direction, testing ideas and adjusting course as we learn what works,” Dana said. “The museum has a rare opportunity to show that Palo Alto’s story of innovation is really a story about community, about how the way we live, learn, and collaborate together is what makes this place extraordinary.”
