I Am Palo Alto is an interactive media installation that brings to life individuals whose ideas, creativity, and leadership have shaped Palo Alto’s unique identity and influence.

Through AI-powered voice recognition and a touch-screen kiosk, visitors engage with a digital docent who serves as a knowledgeable museum interpreter that offers stories, words, and contributions of each figure while providing historical context and perspective. 

Visitors can ask questions and explore the lives of icons and unsung heroes, from Joan Baez and Steve Jobs to Jane Stanford, Thomas Foon Chew, and Sam McDonald—entrepreneurs, champions for education, pioneers, musicians, changemakers, and everyday residents whose ideas and actions built the community we know today.
